The Girls Like Annette

Anthony had been born and raised in the open plains of Nebraska.  His father had been a livestock rancher and had owned about 3200 acres of grazing land there.  But in 2009 his father had passed away after his horse stumbled in a prairie dog hole.  His mother sold the land and livestock to an investor from Texas, and his mother,  older sister
and he had moved into Lincoln.  Anthony had been lonely since the move into town.  He just wasn’t used to making friends.  One day he had gone with his mother to an auction, and an old lamp came up for bid.  He begged his mother to buy it for him, which she did.  He remembered the auctioneer jokingly saying that this might just be a magical lamp.  That night Anthony sat in his room and looked at the lamp.  He decided to try it out, and as he rubbed the lamp, he wished he was more popular with the girls.  Well, it appears that his wish came true, sort of.  Annette now had many girlfriends.  Hmmmm, maybe he should have been more specific?  What do you think?
