Ever since Christine had come to town, Ray
had been totally infatuated with her. His
energy was hyped even more when she
had started working at the printing plant
with him. His interest had gotten so
obvious that his friends began to tease
Ray about her. And when they tried to
tell him that she was way too much woman
for him to handle, he made it his goal to
show them he could handle her with no
problem. Yet despite his efforts, it really
did seem that his friends might just be
story continued below the jump
right. Regardless how much effort he put
into impressing Christine, he came away
empty-handed. One night, after the plant
had worked some mandatory overtme,
Ray had stumbled across Christine at the
grocery store. He was really sort of tired
and wasn't even trying to move on her
when she broke the ice..."Hi, Ray, have
time for a drink? I'm not ready to go home
yet. There's Gil's Place is just down the
street." Ray's lips nervously mouthed
"Sure." This was what he'd been waiting
for since he first set eyes on Christine. He
would be alone, well sort of with her for
the first time. Now was his chance. But
it was Christine who dominated the talk
that night. She talked of how flattered she
was that he was interested in her, But she
went on to say that she had some specific
guidelines and that, while he was a nice
guy and all, he just didn't qualify. The
news hit Ray hard, and he quickly asked
"What can I do. I'll do anything for you."
"You can't be serious? Are you sure? You
would do anything?" When Ray replied
"YES," she said, "come home with me then."
That night the two made love, but in a
way totally new to Ray. But he wouldn't
go back for anything. Life is good. And if
it's not broken, don't fix it.....
